Our Story

A new song I finished on April 1st 2010. Slightly progressive, but a bit more laid back than previous songs. Written in A minor, it’s a melodic song that will fill that “softer” spot on the album, relying more on vocal melodies and harmonies rather than complex instrumentation..

Oh yeah… forgot to mention… I am planning on releasing a solo progressive album later this year. Until I See You, Our Story, and Symphonic (rerecording) are the three songs I have so far. I plan on releasing a new one every month, so hopefully I will have the album done by the end of the summer of 2010.

Storm

This is a song I recorded a few weeks back and just finalized all the parts. It was sung by someone very special to me, Sarah Wofford (she also played the guitar part throughout the song). I played bass as well as arranged piano, drums, and string parts for the song. I didn’t do much… it was all her. :-D

Until I See You

A progressive song I wrote in August/September of 2009. At the time, I was studying deeper into music theory and this song was a result of some of the early “practicing” I was doing. It uses many varying time signatures as well as some more complex chord structures and progressions as compared to ones I’ve used in the past.

The Final Battle Cry

This is a song that my band Order of Týr recorded in the Spring of 2008.  My friend Jordan B. Sanders actually wrote this song…All I did was sing it, but I thought I would put it up here anyway.

Overture 1928

This is an arrangement I did of the song Overture 1928 by Dream Theater.  It was arranged for a percussion ensemble I taught at a local highschool.  There is marching battery as well as pitched percussion such as keyboards (marimba, vibes, etc), accessories, and Bass Guitar.

Symphonic

This is a song I wrote and recorded in December of 2008 to be given as a Christmas present.  It is modeled to be slightly radio-rock-ish while still retaining a bit of complexity because after all….it’s what I do.

Transformers

My nerdiest pride and joy.  This is my collection of Transformers I have collected over the span of my life.  They range from original G1 toys I played with as a child, all the way to current toys I recieve as gifts.  The bottom row consists of a few larger transformers, three of them being combiners (Devastator, etc).  The second row from the bottom is full of mostly the first generation Beast Wars toys.  The third row from the bottom contains Transmetal Beast Wars toys well as a couple of first generation toys.  The fourth shelf from the bottom, has all of my original G1 and G2 toys.  The second shelf from the top has a bunch of G1 remakes and 2007 movie toys that have come out over the past couple of years.  The top shelf has a few different things including the 1986 movie, 2007 movie, the G2 Optimus Prime and Megatron, and the Masterpiece Optimus Prime among a few other things.

Xbox 360 Mods

Xbox 360 that I have taken apart and re-assembled with a clear blue case. Also has shown signs of a coming red ringed before just as the warranty expired, but I re-applied the heat syncs, thermal grease, and fixed up the X mounting brackets for the syncs to attach to the board.  One of the X mounting brackets was replaced with bolts to mount the heat sync directly to the case.  This solves the problem Microsoft created by using the X brackets.  Good as new!  Actually, better than new….

I have also replaced the original thumb sticks on my halo control with PlayStation thumbsticks (for increased grip cuz they did SOMETHING right…). I am looking for more controller mods…so to be continued!

Sega Genesis Guitar

After getting an extra Sega Genesis for free and having a Washburn guitar lying around that I could not get rid of, I decided I would combine them…because after all…I AM in a Video Game Metal band! At the moment the only thing this guitar is lacking is a set of strings and a much better pickup to up the bad ass-ery.

Johnny 5

Ever since I was 4 or 5, it has been my obsession to build a Johnny 5 from the movie Short Circuit. Over the years, I (with the help of my father) have made many Johnny 5′s in an attempt to recreate the original with most of our first “attempts” being made out of cardboard. About 3 years ago I decided it was time to take it to the next level, and over the past 3 years, this has been an on going project of mine. Hurdles keep on getting in the way that put the project off over and over again…but SOMEDAY it’ll be complete.

At the moment, the Torso is complete, as well as most of the head. Lacking in the head is mainly a paint job as well as the completion of the eyelids. I have all of the parts to complete the head, but there have been some minor design issues that have set me back. Each of the eyelids are controlled by servos, which are driven by a servo control board which connects to a computer to give it life.

Fingers have been made for the hands but the arms are still on the list of things to do.

The base is going to be THE federal project. I have purchased wheel chair motors as well as treads for this beast. Currently, I am in the process of pop-riveting grips on the treads as well as giving them their 45 degree cuts on either side. What I need next are 2 cogs to actually drive the thing. They either must be built or purchased…not sure on that one yet.
